yea its stupid but the bcm control the ecu on vts so if there not matched the ecu wont work try walliston wreckers they  usually have them in stock

u dont need a bcm as long as you get vats disabled in the tune.

that **** takes about 10 minutes in total to pull the tune. modify the parameter and flash back in.

easy squeezy.

i was pretty sure you could disable it. cheers

i found a VY HSV 285kw ls1 for $600 with a spun big end. hmmm is it worth re-grinding the crank and new bearings??

nope ! if u doing crank and bearings peace of mind would do piston and rings yeah ? the ls1 block is pretty exspensive to get bored out too due to the time/labour/parts it takes bolting the plates up needed to bore an aluminum block, most definatly blow well over the budget of buy a low k's ls1

also makes u wonder how a vy ls1 grabs a bearing ? there a pretty tough bottom end ! , fair call the top end may just as well be made of play doh, but you dont hear of many wrecking bottom ends , my bet would be that there is more *****ed in the vy motor then you think ;)

agreed, cheers mark good advice.

the VT got delievered, once i got a chance to really get underneath it and check it out i found some nasty surprises that are beyond me to fix before i move houses next year so i will be abandoning the VT :-(

Or if you build an engine and some muppet doesnt balance the crank properly!!!!
